Tim
Davis
As young man of
seven years of age, the Lord drew Tim Davis to Himself
and worked in Tim’s heart to show him he was a sinner in
need of the Savior. Tim’s father led him to the Lord one
morning after breakfast. The custom for their family
was to read the Word of God every morning as a family.
Tim states, “I still remember confessing my sins to God
and asking Christ to be my personal Savior and Lord.”
One year later, Tim was obedient to the Lord in baptism
by immersion.
When Tim graduated from high school, he
considered what vocation the Lord would have him make as
his life’s pursuit. After considering his God-given
talents, abilities, and with the office of a pastor as
his desire (1 Tim 3:1), he believed that the Lord was
calling him to pursue full-time vocational ministry as a
pastor. After counseling with his parents and pastors,
he was encouraged to pursue this endeavor.
Education
After graduating
from Emmanuel Baptist Christian High School in 1988, Tim
entered Bob Jones University. While at Bob Jones
University, Tim pursued a Bachelor of Arts Degree in
Pastoral Studies with a Minor in Music.
Tim continued his education by completing his
Master of Divinity in 2003 at Detroit Baptist
Theological Seminary. Pastor Tim completed his
Master of Theology in 2006.
Ministry
In August of 1995,
Tim and his wife moved to Michigan and began to work at
First Baptist Church of Clarkston. Tim served as the
youth and music pastor while his wife assisted him
faithfully.
In January 1999, God led Tim to a ministry
position at Tri-Lakes Baptist Church in Brighton. As an
associate pastor, Tim assisted Pastor Art Larson in
overseeing the youth and music ministries.
In January 2005, Pastor Davis started serving
the Lord as the Senior pastor of Grace Baptist Church of
Waterford.
Family
Tim married his wife Debbie
on December 21, 1991. Debbie is a wonderful complement
to Tim. God has given her many talents and she
willingly uses them for His glory. She plays the piano
and participates in the various music ministries of
their church. Debbie has directed the children’s choir
and has provided leadership for the teen girls.
Debbie
Davis
Debbie’s parents
started attending First Baptist Church of Clarkston
during her toddler years. Debbie accepted Christ as her
Savior when she was five years old after realizing her
need of salvation during a daily Vacation Bible School
at the home of a church member. Pastor Clarence Bell
baptized Debbie shortly there after as a testimony of
her faith in Christ.
At the age of 12 her family moved to
Blissfield, Michigan where her father, Art Larson,
became the pastor at Blissfield Baptist Church. Since
junior high, Debbie has had the desire to be involved in
some form of ministry, especially teaching music.
Debbie also states, “I am willing to be used in whatever
capacity the Lord leads.”
Debbie graduated from Emmanuel Baptist
Christian High School in 1988, and completed a Bachelor
of Music Education from Bob Jones University in 1993
Tim and
Debbie have been blessed of the Lord with four children;
Samuel, Olivia, Seth, and Blake. |
